Exchange Permit

Documentation required when applying for an Exchange Permit

� A fully completed application form (see Form BI-1738);fully completed, questions not applicable should be answered N/A.

� Passport with at least two blank pages, valid for no less than 30 days after the expiry of intended visit.

� Processing fee of SEK 480 paid to Bank Giro 606-4893.

� Two (2) passport size photographs.

� In the case of the programme being organised/administered by a South African learning institution in conjunction with a foreign learning institution or an organ of a foreign state, a letter from:

The Department of Education or a learning institution in South Africa confirming that it is responsible for the programme, outlining activities and duration; and
The organ/learning institution of the foreign state confirming the particulars of the student, the student's enrolment abroad, and the date of commencement.

� In the case of the programme being organised/administered by a South African organ of state in conjunction with a foreign learning institution or an organ of a foreign state, a letter from:

The organ of state confirming the existence of the programme; or
The foreign learning institution confirming the enrolment of the applicant or a letter from the organ of foreign state conducting the programme.

� Medical certificate (see Form BI-811).

� Radiological Report (see Form BI-806).

� Medical insurance.

� Proof of preliminary booking of return flight or repatriation guarantee from the parent company.

� A police clearance certificate, in respect of all previous countries of residence for periods exceeding one year.

� Birth certificate.

� Vaccination certificate if journey starts or entails passing through the yellow fever belt of Africa or South America.

� A self-addressed A5-size envelope with postage paid for SEK 71 for the return of passport by registered mail (REK). Envelopes from companies/institutes with "porto betalt" not admissible.
